Mrs Ivy Warren - by her daughter
"Mum was born and raised in Hadlow, Kent and then moved to London to begin work as a dressmaker. During the War she worked in the Land Army and was billlited to Elliots Farm in Penshurst. She married in 1945 and moved back to Leicester Square Penshurst, we lived in Penshurst Place for a while, then another house still in Penshurst and on their retirement Chiddingstone Causeway.
Mum came to The Priory in July 2010 and has not looked back since. Life at The Priory has been a wonderful experience for us both, she is so much happier and contented, which goes without saying helps me. All of the staff are so caring and compassionate not only to Mum but also providing invaluable support to me . We have lovely times, walking outside in the beautiful grounds as she loves the outdoors, and the Carers ensure she spends as much time as possible in the garden. She enjoys the activities and/or just people watching and everyone gives her time to sit and talk which she loves.
Sometimes, when I visit I join in the activities which enables me to feel part of her everyday life. All of the staff, at every level, ensure that our time together is very precious, and for that I cannot thank them enough. A couple of years ago Mum (and myself) were lucky to be chosen along with 80 other people to attend the Womens Land Army reunion with a luncheon at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and then on to Tea at Buckingham Palace - meeting the Queen, Prince Philip and other members of the Royal family - this was a truly wonderful day and to share it with each other is one we shall never forget."
